How to Help a Child with Autism

This delightful video, produced by a collaboration of Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) and Howcast, is a delightful and simple message for parents of newly-diagnosed autistic children. Done as a voice over childlike drawings, it discusses several methods of improving outcomes, with a focus on diet and early intervention. [3:37]

While not comprehensive, TACA's video provides an excellent starting point. Unfortunately, some of the suggestions require money, something that many—perhaps most—parents don't have in abundance. The general approach, the advice to start sooner rather than later, and the specific advice about diet will go a long way towards improving an autistic child's outlook. It will also help ease the paths for many parents who are overwhelmed by the enormity of the task before them and, most important, offers honest hope for a better future for their children.
